“Very little is needed to make a happy life; It is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.”
It surely is fallout of one’s way of thinking that has percolated down the ages and has assumed alarming proportions in today’s world. The boy to girl sex ratio has seen a steep nose dive with girls becoming almost an endangered species. What is needed to make a happy life? It is a complete family. How is that possible without the girl child? Just the thought sends shivers down the spine when we imagine what a world without girls will look like!

Hence the “
Beti Bachao Andolan” assumes that much more importance amongst the Indian society so that appropriate knowledge and awareness is spread in the society and can surely go a long way in protecting the future of the world. Three cheers and a pat on the back for all members of the GSB IMA for organizing and actively participating in the Beti Bachao Andolan and public demonstration that was held on 8th April 2007

Not one known to mince words when it comes to analyzing any situation or person in particular it truly was heartening and enjoyable to have the likes of the famous ex-cricketer turned politician Navjyot Singh Sidhu amongst our midst. His presence was awe inspiring and his thoughts and actions have raised the purpose of this rally to newer heights.
“
Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.”
The astute and active leadership skills of Dr. Ketan Desai, Past MCI president were like icing on the cake and his presence as well as his inputs and continued support were like pillars in our quest to make this event successful.
Ahmedabad Medical Association and its energetic team of committee members also participated actively in this rally and ensured that the programme was a huge success. The large turnout of members and executives from AMA served as a marker to all about the importance of survival of the girl child. The placards on demonstration were equally sufficient to make a strong pointer to this burning issue. AMA is highly grateful of and is sincerely thankful to all members, doctors and other regional association who turned up in large numbers to make this rally very successful.
We highly appreciate the involvement of all members of various organizations including the media to make this event a grand success.
